Designed during a period when home had to hold more than usual, Santuario responded to a very specific need, a shared workspace that could also function as a reading area, a place to pause, and a quiet corner inside a compact apartment.
Both avid readers, the clients needed a custom bookshelf and shared desk designed as one continuous piece. To hold books, work materials, personal objects, and daily routines without making the space feel like an office.
Plants, rugs, color, and smaller details were used to soften the space and make it feel more personal. The design also also considered the important role of including circulation circulation for their cats and enough flexibility for the space to shift between focus and rest.
The result is a home studio that works as a library, workspace, and place to breathe within the same apartment.
